1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Get your child on the path to school success!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a nationwide early literacy initiative that encourages families to read to their young children and to use the resources available to them at their public libraries. Additionally, the program encourages family bonding through reading.

It's not hard!  Every book counts!

1 book a day for 3 years = 1,000+ books

10 books a week for 2 years = 1,000+ books

3 books a day for 1 year = 1,000+ books

After every 100 books read, come in for an achievement sticker and pick up a new log.

After reading 500 books, your child receives a gift certificate to Legacy Books (a gift from Legacy Books)

After reading 1000 books, your child receives a t-shirt and book bag (gifts from Friends of Bethlehem Public Library) and their photo is submitted to the Littleton Courier.

The program is for children beginning at birth.  Finish by age 6 or when they enter Kindergarten, whichever comes first.
